Well i had to post on pic of addy. She loves taking baths now all by herself. She just swims all over the place.
This the blog of Nathan & Nicole Sandman. Enjoy our family!
So nate and i took a few days off last week and thought we would go camping since we had no daycare. We didn't go to far. We went to Moose Lake State park. It was a really nice camp ground. I was pretty impressed. The girls did great. They really had a lot of fun and it was really nice and relaxing to be away and just hang out.
WOW! It has been a while since I written. We have been very busy and I was in Atlanta for 5 days last week. It was a lot of fun but really hot. It was like 98 degrees down there and when I got off the plane in Duluth last Wednesday it was 44 here. What a difference.
Nate and I are getting geared up for the big Grandma's Half this weekend. Can't wait. We went for a 8 mile run on Saturday morning which went a lot better then I thought. I was pretty tired after but overall I thought we did pretty good considering all the hills we went up and down. My goal again this year is just to finish. I think if I run again next year I might actually set a time goal but training has been a slow this year so I don't want to get setup myself up and not making it.
Girls are doing great. Getting bigger all the time. Addy is so close to walking but has a hard time letting go. O' well, she is in her own little world and we keep telling ourselves she will walk when she is ready. Hannah is starting to be very independent. The other day I was changing Addy in her room and I looked out and watched Hannah get her tooth brush and toothpaste and brush her own teeth without Nate or I standing there. It almost made me cry. She is getting to big to fast.
We have been wanting to go camping this year but no go. Weather has been to cold and icky on the weekends so on Saturday we deiced that we would camp in the backyard .We started a fire in the fire-pit and then slept in the camper. It was a lot of fun until about 1115 when it started to rain and Addy woke up. I thought I would spare our neighbors from thinking we were crazy and took her in the house. She slept a lot better in the house.
Wow where does the time go. We were another landscaping mission to get things done this past weekend. Hannah went up to mom and dads for the weekend so we decided to finish off a few outside projects. We started off by finish the off the landscaping around the garage and then Nate decided it was would be good to get the rest of the stumps from the trees out. Let me tell you how much of a pain in the but that was. Afterwards we pulled out the clothes line polls from the yard. The 1st on came out super easy but then the second one, WOW! We pulled and dug and pulled and dug and i think our neighbors thought we were on crack because after about an hour they came over to help. They laughed and said.......Need some help?? Of course i left and went into the house. I was so embarrassed. After about another hour of pulling and digging they finally decided to just cut the darn thing off and we would bury it. We are very thankful though they came or else it would still be in the ground and we would still be trying to dig it out.
After the long day we called it good enough. We showered and went out to eat in Cloquet at Gordy's Hi Hat. It was good. It was just the three of us and Addy was getting alot of mommy time in. I was telling a go co-worker today that i really felt good about our alone time with addy this weekend. With her being the second child she doesn't get that and she was in a great mood all weekend.
Sunday morning we decided to go for a short run with Addy and the dog. It was good until on our way back. Addy doesn't have much patients and well about 1/2 way back she started to freak out. I wanted to stop and just carry her but Nate said no and told me that she needs to deal until we get home. About a block away from home i made him stop and pick her up. She didn't want nate and only wanted mommy. I carried her the rest of the block until we got home. We then showered and went to church.
After church Nate made a trip to the dump and got rid of a bunch of mulch and leaves and then we just hung out after that. Hannah came back around 8sih. We had to run to Cloquet to pick her up at Uncle Scotts house. It was really good to see her. When we walked into the house came running up and gave me a big huggy and kiss. She is such a sweetheart. After we go home i got the girls ready for bed my cousin Melissa called and we met up for a drink at the Runway Bar. It was good to see her and she is always great to talk with.
Monday we decided to go the Zoo. We got a family pass. Super cheap. It cost us $55 for the whole year. It would normally cost us $22 for each time we went so we thought buying us a pass would be better. Hannah loved it. She loved seeing the animals. It was a cooler morning so all the animals were out. After the Zoo came nap time. During nap time i went for run again and then we went over to Trish and Bryan's for a picnic inside. :) It was fun and always great conversation.
So that was our weekend in a nut shell. Like i said earlier where does the time go.
Oh yeah....Addy got two new teeth bring her total up to 6.
Well it has been two weeks since I last wrote. We have been very busy these past weeks. Mother's day weekend myself and Trish ran in the Mother's Day 5K run on Saturday morning. It was great. It was our first time running together we did really well. Mother's day we just hung out around the house and started to do some landscaping around the deck and garage. I am very happy with house things are coming along. It really looks good now. We are now starting to work on the front yard. I am digging up my cheep landscape job i started when we 1st moved in because i hate it. I want to just plant a few bushes and hostas there and work on just adding some simple curb appeal. Nothing over the top. My goal would be to get that done this coming weekend as long as the weather continues to stay nice.
I have been running as well when i find time. I feel as though i am not getting anywhere but i am trying. My goal is run atleast every other day this week and do a 6 mile run on Saturday and next week do a 8 mile run. I really need to kick it down for the next month or else i won't make it. Oh and Jessie bailed on me so i am on my own. Nate said he would run with me but i really dont' want to hold him back from getting a good time. We will see how things go.
The girls are doing great as always. They love being out side which is great. Fresh air makes kids sleep longer at night. We had to go buy another plastic pool for their sand box. The other one we had blew away in our last blizzard. I can't tell you how excited Hannah was when we got it and put the sand in there. She was jumping up an down. Every morning on our way to daycare she stops in front of it and wants to go in to play. She gets really upset when i tell her no. :(
Wow. We made it through another weekend of birthday party's. Nate and I took off last Thursday and Friday to get a few things done and go up to my parents house to see my Grandma C and help Mom with Dad's birthday party. Before we left, we painted Hannah's room on Wednesday night so we could give it a few days to air out. Wow is it ever pink but it looks great. I love it and all Hannah can say is "Oh my gosh mommy, I love it". It is so funny. Then we went up to Mom and Dad's for a long weekend. We had a surprise party of Dad's 50th so we had a lot of prep work that we needed to do. Then on Saturday we setup for the big party and it went off pretty well if i could say so myself. He was defiantly surprised and had a really good time. Mom invited about 75 ppl and we had about 50 show up which is pretty good consider everyone had to travel to come.
On Sunday we got up early and headed back to Proctor for Hannah's birthday party at Eskimo Pies. It was a great place to have a party since is pretty open and the kids can just run around. We had a great turn out and we didn't have any left over food. Thank God! I didn't really want to eat pizza again for a week like we did for Addison's. Hannah got a lot of great toys and clothes. She is set for the summer.
After the party on Sunday we went home and setup Hannah's twin bed. She had went over to Grandma Hanson's to play with JaJa so we had Mom and Dad pick up a twin mattress at Sam's and bring it back so when she got home we could surprise her. She was pretty excited to sleep in her "Big" bed last night. She did really well until about 5:30 this morning when I heard a big "thud" and heard Hannah start crying. She fell out of her bed and was pretty scared. So off to target or walmart tonight to buy her a side bed rail so she doesn't fall out again. :)
Well we had another busy weekend. We attended Spencer's birthday party on Friday night at the Superior YMCA. it was a really good time. The YMCA over there is really nice. The pool area is great and the girls had a blast. They are defiantly getting their swimming this spring with all these pool parties. After the party the girls and I headed out to Chokio for the weekend. We left Duluth around 730 and made to it Sauk Center before I had to stop and get a hotel room. The roads were starting to ice up and I was about to drive in the dark with the girls in the back. We tried our luck at the American Inn but they didn't have anything available. Then we tried "The Palms". Let me tell you how great of a hotel that was. It is nothing like the Palms in Vegas even though i think they were trying to be like them. The hot pink walls and palm trees outside were great. Either way it was a safe place to stay. We got up Saturday morning and started on the road again. It took about us 2-3 hours but we finally made it. We had a great time and it was so good to see the family even though it was a pretty short stay. We are now in planning mode for Hannah's big day this coming weekend. We are having her birthday party and Eskimo Pies on Sunday at 1. I just sent out the invitations today. I am so bad about that but I did call and email everyone. Just a tad busy these days.
Oh i can't forget, Nate did a alot of work around the house this weekend. He painted the bathroom, put up new shelves in the hall closet and got rid of a bunch of leaves. Way to go Nate. He is a superstar!
